Scoring Rules

Understanding how your team scores points during tournaments

Basic Scoring

All scoring is based on strokes against par

Stroke Scoring

A player's score is calculated based on their strokes relative to par. Negative numbers (under par) are good, positive numbers (over par) add to your total.

Examples:
Birdie (-1): Player scores 3 on a par 4
Par (0): Player scores 3 on a par 3
Double Bogey (+2): Player scores 6 on a par 4

Cut Line Rules

Players who miss the cut receive a penalty of +8 strokes for each remaining round. This typically results in a +32 total for missing the cut in a standard tournament.

Examples:
Player at +5 misses cut: Final score = +5 (played) + 32 (penalty) = +37

Withdrawal Rules

Players who withdraw receive +8 strokes for each incomplete or unplayed round. Partial rounds are scored normally up to the point of withdrawal.

Examples:
WD after 27 holes: Score through 27 holes + 8 (R2) + 32 (R3/R4)

Format Rules

Specific scoring rules for each pool format

Tier Format

Select one golfer from each of six tiers. All six golfers' scores count toward your team total.

Examples:
Team Total = Sum of all six golfers' scores against par

Salary Cap Format

Build your team within the $50,000 budget. All selected golfers' scores count toward your team total.

Examples:
Team Total = Sum of all selected golfers' scores against par
