What to decide for U.S. Open
The U.S. Open is organized by the USGA, with a field drawn from exemptions and qualifying. The championship rotates among host courses.
Explain that the lowest adjusted stroke total wins even when a team finishes over par. Decide whether all golfers count or only a best-score subset; a positive total is not a scoring error.
Check the final field after qualifying and exemptions are resolved. A golfer’s familiar name or past U.S. Open appearance does not establish that they are in this year’s pool field.
